Pbooster 0-48-47 is a water-soluble fertiliser developed by Prayon for crops grown in a soilless environment.

Pbooster is a perfect mix of polyphosphates and orthophosphates, meaning that Pbooster can completely substitute the standard phosphate fertilisers (such as monopotassium phosphate (MKP) and phosphoric acid) that are used in soilless cultivation. Pbooster meets plants’ outstanding phosphate requirements by maximising polyphosphate availability.

The ideal combination of polyphosphates and orthophosphates that is provided by Pbooster means that certain nutrients (e.g. calcium, magnesium, trace elements) and phosphates do not precipitate. Polyphosphates remain more stable at a high pH than orthophosphates, as they prevent the formation of insoluble precipitates above a pH of between 6 and 6.5. As a result, the phosphate remains completely available to the plant, since in the irrigation system and around the roots, pH fluctuations are always possible due to, for instance, the absorption of nutrients.

For example, nitrate (NO3-) absorption leads to a rise in pH in the roots area. Polyphosphates tolerate higher pHs than orthophosphates, so that phosphates and other nutrients remain more available to the roots. This results in enhanced absorption, root development and plant colouring, leading to higher crop yields and quality.

In the past the full dose of phosphates was never replaced by polyphosphate. What is different about Pbooster 0-48-47 is that it can completely substitute today’s phosphate fertilisers because Pbooster contains some of the phosphates in the form of polyphosphates and some as orthophosphates. On the basis of current knowledge, phosphates must be converted into orthophosphates before they become available to the plant. Pbooster contains polyphosphates that are converted into orthophosphates by hydrolysis at the roots. If only polyphosphates are used, a temporary lack of orthophosphates could occur, which is not the desired outcome.

Pbooster, like the whole Hortipray® range, is a solid watersoluble fertiliser.

Instructions:

  • First dissolve a part water and after that, acids in the B tank (phosphate tank).
  • Pbooster 0-48-47 is dissolved in the B tank (phosphate tank) after the acid and before the other fertilisers.
  • Dose traces into the A tank (calcium tank).

Pbooster 0-48-47 contains a mix of orthophosphates and polyphosphates, meaning that the full dose of phosphates can be substituted by Pbooster.
